Aspen Group’s 2015 Alignment Conference to Focus on Building a Story

By June 1, 2015News

Your church building is more than a backdrop. More than a setting for a story. It’s a main character, helping you narrate your church’s story. What people see, hear, and feel in church creates the narrative of their experience. But how can you build a story through physical space? A story that captures the hearts and minds of all who enter?

This theme—“Building a Story”—will be the focus of Aspen Group’s 2015 Alignment Conference. This year’s event will take place on Thursday, October 22, at the Indiana Landmarks Center—a beautifully restored and repurposed turn-of-the-century church in Indianapolis. This building tells its own tales of transformation with its early congregations helping to found one of the city’s hospitals and homeless shelters and recent members holding prominent political offices.

The church will be the perfect backdrop for our three featured keynotes. From Justin Bell’s opening on “Why Story Matters,” to Rex Miller on “What We Can Learn from Others’ Stories,” to Kevin Miller’s “How to Tell Your Church’s Unique Story,” each speaker will develop a narrative arc related to building a story. In between these three big ideas, we’ll offer multiple breakout sessions to develop the practical aspects of building a story that aligns with our culture and your church’s leadership, ministry, and facilities.

Our line-up of speakers and topics will help pastors and church leaders discover how to become a storyteller through church space.

It’s been a few years since we last held an Alignment Conference in the Indianapolis area, and we’re thrilled to bring it back. We hope you and your church team will join us for this one-of-a-kind, once-a-year, one-day event. Space is limited, though, so be sure to register soon!
